Antoine Mason named new SVSU football WR coach

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University football team is excited to announce the hiring of Antoine Mason as the Cardinal wide receivers coach.

"I am thrilled to announce the addition of Coach Antoine Mason as our new Wide Receiver coach," SVSU Head Football Coach Ryan Brady said. "Coach Mason has an outstanding reputation as a mentor, recruiter, and one of the best WR developers in the state of Michigan. Our kids will love his energy and passion for developing young men both on and off the field. Welcome home Coach Mason. Cardinal Nation is excited you are back!"

Mason, who has been in coaching since 2015 has specialized in training elite wide receivers the past few years while serving as CEO of Wideout Tech Performance, working with 15 players on NFL rosters, including Donovan Peoples-Jones, KJ Hamler, Malik Taylor, Tyler Conklin, Trishton Jackson, Matt Sokol, Jake Lampman, and Matthew Sexton.

Mason joins SVSU from Northwood University where he served as the wide receivers coach for the last two seasons. Additional previous coaching experience includes serving as the wide receivers coach at Lawrence Tech from 2017-2020 and as the running backs coach at Culver-Stockton College from 2016-2017.

Mason was a student-athlete on the SVSU football team from 2010-2011. 

The announcement comes on the brink of National Signing Day on Feb. 3. Coach Brady will announce the members of the 2022 SVSU football recruiting class with a National Signing Day Special at 2:30 pm airing on svsucardinals.com.
