UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Coming off a huge 3-1 Friday night victory over Grand Valley State, the SVSU volleyball team hosted the No. 4 nationally-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday (Nov. 14) afternoon at the Cardinal Gym. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead and holding a 2-1 advantage, Ferris bounced back with wins in the fourth and fifth sets and posted a 3-2 comeback victory.
SVSU notched a 25-22 win in the opening set to make the score 1-0. Ferris knotted the score at 1-1 after posting a .406 hitting percentage and claiming a 25-11 win in the second frame. The Cardinals responded strongly again, grabbing the lead once more with a 25-17 advantage in the third set after hitting .316 in the frame. FSU evened the match again in the fourth set, winning by a 25-19 margin. In a back-and-forth final set, the Bulldogs would seal the victory with a 15-10 score in the fifth and final set.

- The Bulldogs hit .205 in the maatch in comparison the the .148 figure posted for the Cardinals.
- Brooke Tiller had a match-best 24 digs to anchor the defense for SVSU. She now owns the single season digs record with 570.
- Andrea Brigham notched a match-high 18 kills and added 10 digs.
- Kaylee Schmitt added 13 kills, hitting .281 while added a team-high two blocks.
- Tamara Heller reached 20 digs as well to go along with her nine kills.
- Kelly Vellucci posted 46 assists and added 18 digs and six kills.
- Emily Nieman had nine digs and a match-high five service aces for the Cards.
- Ferris's Ayanna Buckley had 17 kills while Danielle Down tied Tiller with the match-high 24 digs. Stephanie Sikorski had 48 helpers for the visitors.

Up Next for the SVSU...
Saginaw Valley will move on to the 2015 GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals, which take place on Wednesday (Nov. 18). SVSU is the #6 seed and will travel to play at #3 Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals won the only match between the teams this year, a 3-1 decision on October 10th in Hillsdale.
