Ferla Named Second Team All-GLIAC

BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University junior Kelsey Ferla (Lincoln Park, Mich./Gabriel Richard HS) has been selected to the 2013 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team for her performance during the season.

Ferla racked-up a team-high 307 kills for the season along with 278 digs and 61 total blocks while playing in 110 sets and all 30 matches for the Cardinals.

Fellow junior Ashley Driscoll (Bellevue, Mich./Pennfield HS) was named to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team.  Driscoll competed in 100 sets in 28 matches and recorded 216 kills, good enough for second best on the team.  Driscoll added 53 total blocks on the year.

SVSU finished the 2013 season with a 17-13 overall record and reached the GLIAC Tournament, falling in the quarterfinal round to Grand Valley State University.
