Cardinals Tennis Loses to Michigan Tech. 5-2
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State
University women’s tennis team lost its second match in the
GLIAC Women’s Tennis Tournament on Saturday (Oct. 25) falling
to Michigan Tech. 5-2.
The Cardinals lost in five singles matches that were finished, but
managed to pick up two wins in doubles as seniors Katie Hanover
(St. Johns, Mich./St. Johns HS) Danielle Coldren(West Bloomfield,
Mich./Pontiac Notre Dame Prep HS) were able to pick up a win 9-7,
and sophomore Cortney Heileman (East China, Mich./St. Clair HS)
freshman Anessa Campian (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) won 8-4.
The Cardinals left two singles matches unfinished. Earlier in the
day, SVSU was defeated by Grand Valley State University. The loss
drops the Cardinals to 3-8 on the season, while Michigan Tech
improves to 6-5.
