Saginaw Valley Tennis Loses Its Fourth Straight to St. Petersburg College
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saginaw Valley State
University women’s tennis dropped their forth straight game
to St. Petersburg College by a score of 6-3 on Saturday (Mar.
14).
The Cardinals were able to get three points by their 3, 4, 5
positions. First, Courtney Heileman (East China, Mich. /St. Clair
HS) was able to defeat her opponent Tara Bechman in two sets, 6-0,
6-3. Also Danielle Coldren (West Bloomfield, Mich. /Pontiac Notre
Dame Prep HS) was able to notch another point for her team by
beating Alicia Burke in two sets 6-0, 6-3. For the third and final
point that the Cardinals were able to put up came from Jessica
Stone (Flushing, Mich. /Flushing HS) defeated Genevicve Vasatka in
two sets 6-1, 6-2.
The Cardinals dropped all three of their doubles matches on the
afternoon.
SVSU is now 4-13 on the season and are finished with their road
games in Orlando. They were able to go 2-4 on the road trip after
starting with two wins in a row and dropping the last four. Their
next match will be at Alma College on Saturday March 21.
