Cardinals continue season with Doug Hansen Open

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field teams hosted Siena Heights University for the 2021 Doug Hansen Open Friday at the SVSU Fieldhouse.

Women's Highlights:

  • Jenna Keiser won the 1-mile run in a time of 5:07.68.
  • Cassie Campbell was first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.19 seconds.
  • Kelsey Landra took the 400-meter dash in 1:01.43.
  • Brooke Sutyak won the 60-meter (8.29 seconds) and 200-meter (27.12 seconds) dashes.
  • Arianna Wegienka was first in the 3,000-meter run in 10:22.97.
  • Taylor Lucas had a best jump of 5.04m to win the long jump.
  • Alicia Aldrich hit the NCAA Provisional Mark in the weight throw, winning the event with a best throw of 18.89m, while also taking the shot put with a top toss of 13.27m. 

Men's Highlights:

  • CarLee Stimpfel was first in the 1-mile run in a time of 4:11.46. He also won the 3,000-meter run in 8:31.29.
  • Jared McLean won the 400-meter dash in 50.24 seconds.
  • Nathan Purat crossed the line first in the 60-meter dash in 7.33 seconds.
  • Ethan Engelhardt was first in the high jump, clearing 1.86m.
  • Cavan Wilcox tied for the win in the pole vault, clearing 4.35m.
  • Nick Endres took the weight throw with a best of 15.70m.

The Cardinals remain home to host the two-day Jet's Pizza Invitational starting Friday at the SVSU Fieldhouse.
