RALEIGH, N.C. -- The SVSU Track & Field teams had several distance runners compete at the Raleigh Relays on Friday (Mar. 29) afternoon, turning in some great performances as the outdoor season progresses.
Allison Dorr finished 6th in the 10,000 meter run for the Cardinals with her time of 35:39.12. That bested her previous best mark in the event by 17 seconds, which came at last year's Bison Outdoor Classic. The performance was just less than a half second shy of the program record of 35:38.54.
Dominique Adams ran to a mark of 17:22.26 in the 5,000 meter run as well, besting her previous outdoor best time of 17:41.41 that she had at last year's Bryan Clay Invitational.
In the men's 5,000 meter run, four Cardinals competed on Friday. Tom Goforth was the top finisher with his time of 14:10.17. That tops his previous best outdoor mark in the event by almost eight seconds and is a new program record. Tom bested the old record by more than five seconds (14:15.20).
Ryan Talbott crossed the finish line with a time of 14:24.50, registering a new best time for him in the event, which was his first outdoor competition.
In the 1,500 meter run, Parker Eisengruber ran to a time of 4:04.17 for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals will be back in action Friday and Saturday at Michigan State, taking part in the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational.
