UNIVERSITY CENTER -- The SVSU Swimming & Diving programs hosted Wayne State University on Friday afternoon at the Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center. The Cardinals dropped both contests to the nationally-ranked Warriors, with the women falling by a score of 156-133 and the men by a 189-79 count.

Below are a list of the top performances for the Cardinals in Friday's contest...

From Head Coach Bruce Zimmerman

"Even though we were not victorious, it was a pretty good meet for us. We raced tough and had some good performances. On the women's side, Sydney Shipps had a standout meet winning 3 individual events. Lydia Mattar and Amanda Thielen had one win each against a very good Wayne State team. Our focus now will be on next weekends meet against Hillsdale and Ashland. This is our last tune up before the GLIAC Championships the end of February so we want to be sharp and very competitive for this final dual meet of the season."

Up Next...

The Cardinals are back in action Saturday (Jan. 19) against Ashland's Men's & Women's teams and the Hillsdale women. The meet will be hosted at Hillsdale College and is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
