ALLENDALE, Mich. - The SVSU divers competed at the GVSU Diving Invitational on Friday and Saturday in an 11-dive invite that prepared the student-athletes for the upcoming GLIAC Championships and gave them a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Wilhelmina Francisco recorded a new record in the 3 Meter Diving event, posting another qualifying score to the NCAA Dive-in Meet with an 11-dive point total of 419.55.
Kathleen Murphy was great in the 1 Meter event, scoring an 11-dive total of 391.20, qualifying her for the NCAA Dive-in meet as well. She competed in the 2015 dive-in meet as well in the program's first year.
Saginaw Valley now has three divers who are qualified for the NCAA Dive-in Meet, which takes place in Indianapolis Tuesday, March 8. Francisco and Murphy will be joined by Max Buxton in the event.
