CANTON, Mich. - The SVSU swimming & diving team out scored Malone's men's and women's teams at an away match on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 23). Both teams won by a comfortable margin, with the women finishing ahead 150-76 and the men at 144.5-83.5.
Thielen also took first in the 1,000 yard freestyle for the Cardinals with a time of 10:45.02.
Peter Lin recorded a first place win in the 1,000 yard freestyle at 10:39.62. Frederich Schulz and Todd Lovas followed in second and third, respectively. Schulz came in at 10:39.76 and Lovas at 10:54.87.
Lin finished first in the 200 yard backstroke as well, posting a time of 2:04.44.
Taylor Grashuis posted another first place for Saginaw Valley in the 200 yard freestyle, with a time of 1:58.79. Alexandra Davis came in second at 1:59.89 and Melanie Soenksen followed in third at 2:04.48.
Grashuis and Soenksen finishes first and second, respectively in the 100 yard freestyle. Grashuis made a time of 55.49 and Soenksen posted a time of 56.13
In the 50 yard freestyle, Chelsea Harmon took first with a time of 26.06 and Breanne Bell took second at 26.58.
Martinez took first for the women in the 200 yard IM at 2:13.39.
In the men's 200 yard IM, Shaun Yap recorded a first place win and a new program record with a time of 1:56.28.
In the women's 500 yard freestyle, Lydia Mattar finished first with a time of 5:17.96. She was followed by Alexandra Davis at 5:19.85.
Dalton Pokley took first for the men in the 500 free recording a time of 4:53.70.
Shaun Yap posted another first place win for the men in the 200 yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:05.91.
