CLEVELAND- The SVSU swimming & diving team finished the third and final day of the Cleveland State Invitational today (Nov. 22). The men finished fourth, earning a total of 740.5 points. The women finished seventh with a total of 238, improving two places from last year's ninth place finish.
Peter Lin earned a first place win for the second time during the invitational in the 1650 yard freestyle. Lin took 40 seconds of his best time, finishing at 16:03.05. Fellow Cardinals Frederich Schulz and Tanner Peltier also earned spots in the top ten. Schulz took ninth with a 17:01.75, followed by Peltier in tenth at 17:02.97.
In the women's 200 yard backstroke Amanda Thielen earned eighth place, finishing at 2:07.43.
Lydia Mattar took fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke for the Cardinals, making a new program record at 2:22.05.
In the 200 yard breaststroke, Shaun Yap earned his third first place finish. He broke the SVSU men's program record at 1:59.92.
The men's 400 yard freestyle relay team of Yap, Lin, Grayson Arnold and Spears finished seventh with a time of 3:09.75.
