Tim Rousse was named the interim head coach on on April 1,
2011. Rousse joined the Saginaw Valley State University
softball staff in August, 2009. He has a wealth of knowledge in the
fastpitch game. His primary responsibilities will be working with
SVSU's infield and hitting.
Before arriving at SVSU, Rousse was an assistant coach at Bay City
Western High School. He coached one year of collegiate baseball at
Madonna University, where he worked primarily with the middle
infielders. Before coaching at the collegiate level, he was
an assistant coach for the Bay City All Saints boys varsity
baseball team from 1990 to 1992, helping lead the Cougars to the
state championship game in 1992. Rousse has held
“college ready” seminars for graduating high school
senior baseball players, and has been the coach of ASA girls fast
pitch teams for the past 10 years. Besides coaching, Rousse
has 11 years of experience playing Class "A" men's fastpitch
softball.
Rousse attended Orange Coast College of California, where he was a
member of the baseball team. Tim and his wife, Jodi, reside
in Bay City with their two children, Meredith and MacKenzie.
Laura Kukla

Laura Kukla enters her first season at SVSU as an assistant coach on Tim Rousse’s staff. Kukla spent the 2011 season assisting Bay City Western, where she helped the team to the final four in the state tournament.
Kukla was a member of the softball team at SVSU from 1994-1997 where she was a four year starter and named first team All-GLIAC. After graduating from Saginaw Valley with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice, Kukla went on to be the head coach at Delta College from 2000-2001. While at Delta she helped lead the team to the College National Tournament and was named both district and regional “Coach of the Year”.
Kukla returned to Saginaw Valley in 2002 where she was an assistant head coach and later named interim head coach in 2003. After coaching at SVSU, Laura was named the junior varsity coach at Bay City Western High School from 2009-2010.
In 1998, Kukla was hired to work at the Juvenile Home in Essexville, where she continues to work today as a Youth Development Worker.
Shelly Petosky

Shelley Petoskey joins the Saginaw Valley State University softball staff as a volunteer coach in 2011. Petoskey was a member of the SVSU softball team from 1991-1993 where she was named St. Leo All-Tournament and helped the team to the NCAA Final Four in 1993.
Petoskey coached at Ida High School where she was named all-district “Coach of the Year”. She later coached at Milford High School from 2004-2007.
After graduating from Saginaw Valley with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology, she started working as a Nursing Home Administrator. Petoskey returned to SVSU in 2010 and earned her Masters of Science in Health Leadership.
Petoskey resides in Highland with her husband David and daughter Audrey.
