After Ferris took a 3-1 lead in the top of the 2nd, the Cardinals went for three in the home half when they got an RBI double from Jackie Popko and a two-RBI single from Misiak. That made the score 4-3 in SV's favor.

SVSU went-off for a five spot in the 5th, using an RBI single from Aubree Mouthaan, an RBI double from Julia Salisbury, a two-RBI double from Misiak and Salisbury scored on a fielding error. That put the lead in the Cardinals' favor once more with the score 9-6.

Another RBI double from Salisbury in the 6th pushed that lead to 10-6.

Ferris State scored two runs in the game's final play, which resulted in putout at second base but the Cardinals claimed the 10-8 win.

Misiak finished 3-4 with a double, home run and five RBI in game one. Salisbury was 3-4 as well with two doubles and a pair of RBI. Mouthaan had two hits with an RBI. Popko had the other run driven-in on a hit.
