GLIAC — SVSU Men's Soccer sophomore forward Michael Hamilton earned his first GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season after an impressive contest against the Parkside Rangers on Sunday to take the GLIAC title, 2-1.
Hamilton scored both of the goals for the Cardinals in this contest, with the first crooked number on the scoreboard coming when Alex Gloshen found Michael Hamilton to give the SVSU a 1-0 edge at the 70:37 mark.
Then, Hamilton knocked-in the game-winner on a rebound off Michael Shaikly's shot to seal the championship in the double overtime victory 2-1 with three minutes to spare.
This is the Cardinals fourth GLIAC title in the program's history and second in the past three years.
The Cardinals will finish out GLIAC play on Friday at 1:30 p.m. on the road against Ashland Universty.
