The Cardinals had a stellar 2017 regular season, posting a 12-3-1 record while advancing as the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament. Saginaw Valley defeated Northern Michigan in the semifinals but fell to Davenport in the title match. SV earned the GLIAC automatic qualifier, as the Panthers are not eligible for NCAA postseason play.
SVSU led the league in goals scored (33) and allowed (11) throughout the regular season. The three regular season losses marked an all-time low for the program as well.
The postseason bid for SVSU is the program's sixth in the last seven years. Stay tuned to www.svsucardinals.com and @SVSUAthletics on twitter for all updates regarding the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament.
