Junior forward Jordan Kalk earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after posting another stellar weekend in a pair of victories for the Cardinals. He recorded back-to-back hat tricks, scoring three goals in a 5-1 win Friday at Walsh before adding another three with an assist in the team's 9-0 shutout over Malone on Sunday. The six goals give Kalk 15 on the season, which leads the nation and is just two shy of the SVSU program record. The hat trick against Malone on Sunday marks Kalk's third this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Alexandre Bouillennec was named the Defensive Player of the Week after upping his record for the 2015 season to 10-1-0 after notching a pair of victories on the weekend against Walsh and Malone. He posted his third shutout of the season in Sunday's 9-0 win at Malone and was 25 seconds away from one on Friday, as a late penalty kick gave Walsh a single goal.
The Cardinals are now 10-2-0 for the 2015 season with an 8-1-0 mark in GLIAC play. SVSU hosts Ohio Dominican and Lake Erie this weekend in league action, as the Cards remain in first place in the conference.
