UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw
Valley State University mens soccer team struggled to get any
offense going against a tough GLIAC foe Tiffin University (5-3, 1-0
GLIAC) on Friday.
The Cardinals managed to get 13 total shots on goal, but were
unable to get any shots in the back of the Dragon’s goal in
90 minutes of action.
Senior forward Brent Walker (Owosso, Mich., Owosso HS) was able to
rip three shots on goal, and provide a little offensive spark while
the Cardinals continued to put pressure on Tiffin’s defense.
With 12 corner kicks in the game, SVSU couldn’t find the
right combination to tally any goals against the Dragons.
Cardinal goal keeper, sophomore Luke Deming (Thomas Township,
Freeland HS), was able to stop six of nine shots when the Dragons
were able to penetrate the Cardinal’s defense.
The loss puts SVSU at 2-3 overall, 0-1 in the GLIAC.
