NASHPORT, Ohio -- The Saginaw Valley State University Men's Golf team heads to Ohio to participate in the 2017 GLIAC Championships this weekend. This year's event will once again be played at The Virtues Golf Club, which will feature a Par 72, 7,243 yard layout. The tournament will run from Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23.

The Cardinals carry some momentum heading into this year's event, recently finishing second at the past NCAA Purgatory Regional, with junior Ryan Peruski claiming his first collegiate victory after an opening round score of 67 (-5). SVSU also claimed victory at the 2017 GLIAC Spring Invitational, posting a two-day total of 573 (-3) to match the program's 36-hole scoring record for the second time this season. The other came at the Kyle Ryman Memorial Tournament in October.

Saginaw Valley will begin play on Friday at noon off of hole 1, playing with Grand Valley State and Ferris State. The Cardinals are ranked No. 6 in the most recent NCAA Division II regional rankings.
