OLD HICKORY, Tenn. - The SVSU men's golf team competed on the opening day of the Music City Regional, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University at the Hermitage Golf Course - General's Retreat. The Cardinals shot an opening score of 303 (+15), having them in 20th place after the opening 18 holes of play.

Mason Motte paced SVSU on day one, posting an opening score of 74 (+2) on the par-72, 6,790 yard layout. He sits in a tie for 34th place overall.

Ryan Peruski and Dustin Pumford each carded a four-over score of 76, sitting in a tie for 57th place. Jared Lyons rounded-out the team's scoring on Monday, posting a 77 (+5) to sit in a tie for 75th place overall.

Up Next...

The Cardinals will play in the second round of the regional event looking to improve the scores and move up the leaderboard. Tuesday's play will feature an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, with nice weather expected in the area.
