Men's Golf finishes 9th at first NCAA Midwest Regional event

CHICAGO, Ill. - The SVSU men's golf team posted a ninth place finish at the NCAA Division II Midwest Fall Regional event. The Cardinals finished with a two-day score of 636 (311-325, +60) to end up two stroked behind eighth place Lewis University. Missouri-St. Louis won the event with rounds of 307-307, eight strokes clear of the University of Findlay.

Michael Hansen had the low round on the day for the Cardinals. He shot a 79 to finish tied for 33rd with a total score of 160 (+16). Ryan Peruski and Mason Motte each carded rounds of 81 for the second 18 holes. Peruski finished tied for 42nd with a total score of 161 (+17) to tie Motte, who finished at 17-over as well. Austin Carter finished tied in the 42nd slot as well, putting together rounds of 76-85 for the 161 total.

Jared Lyons was the top finisher overall for the Cards. He tied for tied for 27th overall after rounds of 75-84 (159, +15).

Saginaw Valley continues play on Saturday and Sunday, as it travels to compete at the Kyle Ryman Invitational. The tournament is set to be held at the Mowhawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
