Ryan Peruski Advances to Match Play at 105th Michigan Amateur Championship

BATH, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University men's golf student-athlete Ryan Peruski has advanced on to the match play portion of the 105th Michigan Amateur Championship, held at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Michigan.

Peruski, the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honoree this past year and team MVP, shot rounds of 75-72 (+3) to tie for 28th place stroke play and advances to the field of 64 match play portion, where he will tee-off at 9:31 a.m. Thursday morning.

Ryan posted a stroke average of 76.11 this season in a team-high 19 rounds of play this season for the Cardinals. He posted a pair of top-5 finishes and had four top-10 showings. He shot three rounds at even par or below, with his season low of 71 (-1) coming twice; one in the second round of the GLIAC North Invitational on Sep. 21 and the other on Sep. 28 in the opening round of the first NCAA Regional event.  

Ryan capped-off his sophomore campaign with a solid showing at the 2016 GLIAC Men's Golf Championships, where he tied for fourth place overall. Peruski carded eight of the team's top-12 rounds this season in the team's nine events played.
