Cards Tied for Sixth After First Round of SVSU Spring Invitational

FLORENCE, Ky. - The Saginaw Valley State University golf team hosted the SVSU Spring Invitational at the Boone Links Golf Course in Florence, Kentucky.  The Cardinals shot an opening round 309 and sit in a tie for sixth place with Ashland University.  

Micah Skidmore led the way for the Cards, shooting a 75 (+3).  He sits tied for 7th overall as an individual as well.

Mitch Sikorski is tied for 18th after shooting a 77 (+5) while Carter Marsh (78, T-22) and Ryan Peruski (79, T-33) rounded-out the scoring for the host team.

Jeremy Schultz (78, T-22) and Ryan Thomas (79, T-33) also shot in the 70's for the Cardinals, competing as individuals.

Lewis University carded a first round 301 and leads by three strokes over Walsh University.

The teams are back at it Sunday (Mar. 22), as tee-off for the second round is slated for 9:00 am off of both the 1st and 10th tees.
