Men's Golfers Set for Competition at 2014 GLIAC Championships

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team is set to travel to participate in the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships this weekend.

The tournament is being held Friday through Sunday at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky, a par 72 - 6,842 yard layout.  The 54-hole event is set to begin at 8:30 am on Friday (10/10) with split tee-times.  Starting hole assignments will be determined later today, based on Golfstat rankings.

The Cardinals are looking to improve upon their fourth place showing a year ago in the tournament.  SVSU senior Wyatt Drost claimed the medalist honors in the 2013 event, firing a three-day total of 219 (+3) at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Michigan.

There will be live scoring through Golfstat throughout the entire tournament and updates will be periodically provided on the Cardinals via twitter using the handles @SVSUAthletics / @svsugolf and the hashtag #GLIACmgolf.
