COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished play at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational with a third place finish. The Cardinals followed up Sunday's score of 298 with a mark of 301 on Monday, finishing with a 599 total.
Saginaw Valley finished four strokes behind runner-up Wayne State (595). The University of Indianapolis won the event with a two-day total of 586.
Wyatt Drost shot a 74 on day two, following his first round 70 to finish with an even par 144. He tied for third place overall in the tournament.
Carter Marsh also carded a 74 on Monday, finishing tied for 32nd with a total of 153 (+9). Micah Skidmore matched his first round of 75 with another in round two, ending with a +6 total of 150. He tied for 19th overall.
Adam Hansen tied for 32nd with Marsh after he posted scores of 75-78. Eric Gandy (78-78, 156) also competed in the event for SVSU while Chris Weir (82-71, 153) tied for 32nd and Mitch Sikorski (77-85, 162) finished in a tie for 71st competing as individuals.
Saginaw Valley continues play at the second NCAA Division II Regional Tournament on Saturday (Apr. 5). The event is being held at the Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
