NEW ALBANY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished 11th at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring Invitational at Winding Hollow Golf Club over the weekend.
SVSU shot rounds of 316 (+28) and 330 (+42) to come in at 646 (+70) for the two days. The Cardinals fell all the way from sixth place after day one into 11th place after Sunday.
Senior Kreg Sherman (Caro, Mich.) led the Cardinals with matching rounds of 78 at the par-72 track on his way to a tie for 17th position at 12-over-par.
Sophomore Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich.) completed the season finale one shot behind Sherman after carding rounds of 78 and 79 putting himself in a tie for 22nd place.
Senior Dustin Vogl (Bay City, Mich. / Western) posted a first round 79 on Saturday but struggled in his final round finishing in 87 shots for a +22 total in 50th position.
Sophomore Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich.) recorded scores of 81 and 86 for a 167 (+23) total ending in 56th place, while senior Drew Vogl (Bay City, Mich. / Western) rounded out the Saginaw Valley lineup with a +30 performance firing 85-89 on the weekend.
This tournament concluded the 2012-13 Saginaw Valley State University men's golf season.
