JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri - Saginaw Valley State University golfer Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich./Home school) posted a second round 5-over par 77 at the NCAA DII Men's Golf Midwest/South Central Regional today (May 8) and sits in a tie for 15th place, eight shots behind the lead of 5-under par.

Skidmore, who qualified for the Super Regionals with his stellar play throughout the 2011-12 season, is participating in the tournament as an individual at the 7,112-yard layout at Jefferson City Country Club.

Skidmore found the early morning tee time a challenge as he began the day on No. 10. Micah started his round by making a couple pars before making a bogey 5 at the 393-yard par four 13th.

After carding four on the 14th, Skidmore found trouble at the 15th as he posted a triple bogey after declaring an unplayable lie under a tree followed by putting his ball in a hazard.

The redshirt freshman would right the ship and par the next three holes to shoot 4-over par 40 on the back nine, his first nine of the day.

Skidmore would make the turn and bogey holes No. 1 and 5 while recording pars in the middle.

The leader of the Cardinal golf squad would end his round in fashion as he dropped a 30-footer for birdie to post a one-over 37 on his second nine finishing with a 77 total for day two. Skidmore sits at +3 overall and in a tie for 15th place.

Skidmore will tee off on No. 10 at 12:20 Central Standard Time on Wednesday (May 9).

The top five teams after Wednesday's final round will advance to NCAA National Championships as well as the top two individuals not yet advancing with their team.
