Cardinals Finish Seventh at Findlay, Skidmore Shoots 69

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team recorded a 301 (+13) total in the final round of the University of Findlay Invitational at the Red Hawk Run Golf Course on Sunday (10/9). The Cardinals finished in seventh place with a 614 total. Grand Valley State won the tournament with a 583 total.

The Cardinals were led by redshirt freshman Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich./Homeschool) who fired a second round three-under par 69 to finish tied for 19th at 151. Sophomore Adam Hansen (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western HS) recorded a 78 (+6) in his second round to finish tied with Skidmore at 151 in 19th place. Freshman Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich.) posted a two-over par 74 on Sunday to finish tied for 35th at 154. Redshirt freshman Taylor Walker (Clarkston, Mich.) rounded out the Cardinal lineup finishing in 48th place with a 158 total.

This tournament concludes the SVSU men's golf fall schedule for 2011. The Cardinals will resume action on the course when they travel south for their annual Spring Trip in March.
