Cardinals Finish Eighth at 2011 GLIAC Championships

BATH, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University golf team finished in eighth place at the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships, hosted by Ferris State University at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Mich.  The Cardinals finished with a total of 930 (+66). Grand Valley State won the team title with a 54-hole score of 887 (+23).

Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich.) lead the Cardinals finishing in a tie for 14th place, posting 228 to shoot +12 for the event. Freshman Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich.) finished one shot back of Skidmore in a tie for 17th at 229 (+13). Sophomore Adam Hansen (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western HS) posted a three-over par 75 in the final round to finish at 235 (+19) in tie for 31st place. Junior Addison Monfils (Big Rapids, Mich./Big Rapids HS) recorded a 238 total to finish +22 for the Championship and in a tie for 38th. The SVSU lineup was rounded out by Dustin Vogl (Bay City, Mich./Western HS) who posted 258 and finished in 57th.

SVSU will finish their fall schedule as they compete in the University of Findlay Invitational on October 8-9 at the Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio.
