Cardinal Golfers Sit In Sixth Place After Round One of Northwood Invite

MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team sits in sixth place after round one on Saturday (9/17) of the Northwood University Invitational at Currie West Golf Course in Midland, Mich.

Red shirt freshman Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich.) lead the Cardinals with matching nines of 38 to fire a four-over par 76 and sits in a tie for 20th. Senior Troy Quenneville (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne Catholic HS) finished one shot behind Skidmore (77) and is tied for 28th. The Saginaw Valley squad was rounded out by Adam Hansen (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western HS), Dustin Vogl (Bay City, Mich./Western HS), and Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich.) who each shot 78 on the par-72, 7,056-yard layout.

Junior Dan Warner (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill) is tied for third place after posting a first round 73 (+1) playing as an individual in the tournament.

The Northwood University Invitational concludes on Sunday with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 am.
