Cardinals Golfers Sit In Eight Place After First Round of Al Watrous Memorial

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team shot a 296, eight-over par total in the first round of the Al Watrous Memorial at Bay City Country Club today (9/10). The Cardinals are tied for eighth place after one round of play, ten shots behind Ashland University who fired a two-under par 286 total.

Adam Hansen (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western HS) is tied for 12th after leading the Cardinal golfers with an even-par round of 72, including a two-under par back nine 34. Red shirt freshman Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich.) fired a one-over par 71 in his first collegiate match and is tied for 19th. Junior Dan Warner (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill HS)recorded a three-over par 75, while Dustin Vogl (Bay City, Mich./Western HS) shot 76. Taylor Walker (Clarkston, Mich.) rounded out the SVSU scoring with a five-over par 77.

The final round of the Al Watrous Memorial begins at 10 am on Sunday (9/11).
