Golf Finishes Seventh At Parkside Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University golf team finished in seventh place at the Parkside Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Columbus, Ind.  The Cardinals shot scores of 306 and 301 (+31) to finish four strokes behind host Wisconsin-Parkside.  Fellow GLIAC member Wayne State won the tournament with an overall score of six-over par.

Dieter Schulz (Fort Gratiot, Mich./Port Huron Northern HS) was the top finisher for SVSU, shooting a 3-over total of 147 in the two day event to finish in a tie for eighth place.  Nate Kelly (Suttons Bay, Mich.) finished in a tie for 23rd place, shooting twin rounds of 76 and finishing at 8-over par.  Mike Horn (Clarkston, Mich.) and Rob Ronk (Clarkston, Mich.) finished in a tie for 35th place, each finishing at 11-over par for the event.  Jonathan Lange (Midland, Mich./Bullock Creek HS) tied for 44th place with a score of 13-over par.

The Cardinals will be back in action on April 2nd and 3rd in the second NCAA Division II Regional Tournament, which will be held at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
