Burt Watson Saginaw Valley Youth Football Invitational To Take Place Saturday
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Central Michigan Youth Football League (CMYFL), will be hosting “The Burt Watson Saginaw Valley Football Invitational” October 31, 2009 on the campus of SVSU.
The event will consist of two area youth football games, both taking place on the SVSU football facilities. The first contest will feature Hemlock’s sixth-grade team versus Ithaca’s team, which will be held on the Cardinal Practice Field at 10:00 am. The winner of that game will be announced at half-time, along with the contestants of the 8th grade contest, which will be played immediately following the SVSU / Findlay game in Wickes Stadium. That contest will be between the Bullock Creek and Ithaca 8th grade teams.
The youth players will be invited to watch the
final minutes of the SVSU football team’s warm-ups and
high-five the Cardinals as they exit the field for the locker room
and when they return to the field for
kickoff. There will also be an
individual trophy presentation by the Saginaw Valley State
University football team captains to the winning 8th
grade team.
