2012 Trunk-or-Treat Around the Track

The Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Department has been awarded the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Community Engagement Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

This marks the third time that the SVSU Athletic Department has been selected as the winner of the NCAA Community Engagement Award of Excellence.

Over 1,500 children came in costume and joined Cardinal Athletes, Coaches and the Graff Bay City team for a safe, fun and weather-proof trick-or-treating experience. Meijer provided the candy and healthy food items for the kid while also sponsoring a costume contest.

SVSU Athletics is already hard at work in planning the 2012 “Trunk-or-Treat” Around the Track event, which is tentatively scheduled for October 26, 2012 this year and will take place inside the Ryder Center on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University.

A national winner will be chosen from among the 20 conference finalists and recognized at the Division II National Championships Festival in May in Louisville.
