SVSU Breast Cancer Survivor and Recognition Event

February 16, 2019

Saginaw Valley State University Athletics is set to host the 11th annual breast cancer survivor reception and recognition event on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The event will be held in conjunction with a home basketball doubleheader contest against Davenport University during Saginaw Valley State University's Pink Wave Week.

A reception for survivors and their guests will be held before the women's basketball game.  The reception and admission to the game are complimentary for survivors of breast cancer, guests are $15 each with kids 5 and under free. This reception recognizes and celebrates breast cancer survivor's journey of courage, hope and faith.  To date, this event has raised over $32,000 for regional community members in need of breast care services.

All proceeds from the sale of promotional items, including but not limited to t-shirts and other commemorative gifts will be donated to Covenant's Breast Health CARE Fund.  This fund allows those who are un-insured and under-insured that have met fund criteria, receive free mammograms and additional testing.

This event is made possible by the generous contributions of our Cardinal athletics volunteers, student-athletes and sponsors including: Covenant Health Care, Catholic Federal Credit Union and Mitchell Motorcoach. Additional support and the reception is being provided by Cardinal Deli.
